The company has evolved from an early-stage startup into a dynamic force in the industry.  As the company has continued to grow and change, the need for additional strategic financial leadership became increasingly apparent.  This led to the search for a Head of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to sit under the CFO.

A Recruitment Partnership

The search process involved leveraging our extensive network within the startup/scaleup FinTech space. Initially focusing on candidates with a strict fit to the brief,  the evolving needs of the company led us to broaden our search to individuals who, while initially exceeding the specified criteria, demonstrated exceptional skill sets crucial for steering the company through ongoing international expansion.  We used our sector expertise and market mapping to advise the client that the combination of skills they demanded were unachievable within the current budget and consulted with them to find a  solution – to compromise on the elements of the required skillset or to increase the budget for a candidate that would tick all the boxes.   With a revised budget based on empirical evidence, we were able to broaden the search to individuals who demonstrated the exceptional skill sets that were crucial for steering the company through ongoing international expansion.

Placement & Results

They had played a pivotal role in steering financial strategies and held invaluable experience in M&A transactions, making them a standout choice for this scaleup’s ambitious growth trajectory.

After an extensive interview process, the Founders and C-Suite recognised the considerable impact this candidate could have on the organisation’s financial strategy and the decision was made to extend an offer to the candidate for the role of Head of FP&A.
